My name is Jalal B. Bennani, expert-auditor and actor in associations, of Muslim faith, man of conviction, Moroccan by blood, with a ‘multicultural’ father and a Berber mother, nourished since his childhood by the Taçawwuf (Sufism) and by Western culture, married to a deeply religious Christian of Indian origin.
I dared, in spite of my shortcomings and my incompetence (for I am neither a historian, nor a philosopher, nor an exegete, nor a man of religion), to go and question, in the least biased way possible, our hardly penetrable past on a subject that is so sensitive and so important, which concerns the Oneness of existence, The human being, the compassionate, the spiritual universalism, the coexistence, the solidarity, the sharing, in short, a harmonious living together between multicultural, multi confessional and multiracial citizens. “We need not fear to profess ignorance”, said Montaigne.
May the learned specialist and the wise theologian not judge too harshly this strong but humbling intrusion into their respective fields and may more talented and better equipped thinkers and scholars correct and enlighten us during the exchanges that will be established, In Sha’Allah, between Internet users of all faiths and cultures…
I would like to express my gratitude to my son, Riad, whose support, advice, guidance and recommendations were central to the creation of this blog.
I would also like to thank Sascha and Doris who have shown tireless patience and wise pugnacity in order to arrive at the end of this platform, and I leave it to you, dear internet users, to judge the quality and relevance of the content of this blog.
I would like to thank Mr Jamaâ BAIDA, director of the Moroccan Archives, for having graciously offered me the photos of Toumliline, illustrated in this first post of this block. A huge thank you to Mr Faouzi SKALLI, initiator and president of the Fez Festival of Sufi Culture and co-founder of the Fez Festival of Sacred Music of the World, with whom I have discussed this or that theme of this blog and also for having succeeded in obtaining the authorization to illustrate in this blog, an image full of spirituality, wisdom and mysticism
